About Dr. Timothy
Dr. Timothy is a board certified ophthalmologist who specializes in diseases and surgery of the retina and vitreous. A magna cum laude graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, Dr. Timothy attended
medical school at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.
He completed his residency at the West Virginia University Eye Institute which has one of the highest surgical volumes for residents in the country. He then completed his fellowship in vitreoretinal diseases and surgery at Harvard Medical School, including both the Joslin Diabetes Center and the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary.
Following his training, Dr. Timothy joined the Harvard Department of Ophthalmology as a faculty member. There, in addition to patient care, he was an investigator on multiple clinical trials as well as the associate medical director of the telemedicine service. He has published multiple papers and book chapters, as well as lectured at national and international meetings.

Dr. Timothy has a passion for patient outreach and international care. He has performed clinical rotations at the Aravind Eye Hopsital in Madurai, India, as well as the APEC Eye Hospital in Mexico City, Mexico. During these experiences, he medically managed and performed complex vitreoretinal surgery
on hundreds of underserved patients in need.
Dr. Timothy has been in practice in the South Shore since 2009, where he brings his clinical expertise. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and a member of the American Society of Retinal Specialists, as well as The New England Ophthalmologic Society. He is also on the Staff of the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, and Steward Norwood Hospital.
When Dr. Timothy is not at the office busy caring for patients he spends his time with his wife and 3 growing children. He loves nature and is an avid outdoorsman. He especially enjoys biking, hiking, camping, diving or swimming at the beach. He is a fan of the local sports teams.
